Faraday School
The New Model School Company is delighted to announce that it is planning to open its second, low-fee independent primary school in September 2009, following the popularity of Maple Walk School in North West London.
The school will be situated at the historic Trinity Buoy Wharf, across the Thames from the O2 arena. It was here that British scientist Michael Faraday carried out his work on the electrification of the lighthouses when he was working for Trinity House. In celebration of this, the school will be called the Faraday School.
The same characteristics which have made Maple Walk so popular will be found at Faraday School: small class size (20 children); committed, high-calibre staff; a concentration on strong basic skills; an emphasis on knowledge; high expectations of behaviour, manners and respect; and a fully involved parent body. The curriculum will be broad and stimulating.
The Faraday School will open with children in Reception and Year One. If there is sufficient demand, we will open Years Two and Three.
The fees will be kept to around £5,000 per annum by keeping tight control on costs and having modest premises. The quality of the education provided will not be compromised - a crucial factor in ensuring Maple Walk is so hugely oversubscribed.
As with all schools in the UK, the school will be registered and inspected under the aegis of Ofsted and will meet all safety and educational requirements.
There will be no registration fee for the September 2009 intake. Click here to register your child
The first term's fees will become payable in March 2009.
