Staff profiles
Faraday School is delighted to introduce the following staff.
Mrs Liesl Dalton
Reception Teacher
I was born and raised in South Africa. My teaching career began at a very young age. In Year 2 I was already marking books for my teacher and enjoyed changing the date on the chalk board everyday. I studied at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal in Durban where I obtained a Bachelors degree in Primary Education.
Following university I decided to explore the world and took a job as an au pair in New York City. I completed my year's contract with the family and moved to my first teaching job in Taichung, Taiwan. I taught in one of the top private schools in the country and by the end of the school year more than half my class achieved top 20 status in the year group of 70+ learners. I then returned to South Africa and worked in a nursery school close to home for a year prior to arriving in the UK.
I started my career in London working as a supply teacher, teaching in over 50 schools in 4 months. I then worked as a teacher at the Prior Weston Primary school near Old Street. I worked with children from Reception to Year 6 for a year and a half. I have since been teaching for NMS at Faraday School since it first opened in 2009.
I believe in good discipline and feel that this is the key to a successful learning environment. I take my job very seriously, am a bit of a perfectionist and help my learners reach their fullest potential.
Sarah Gimblett
Year 1 & 2 Teacher
Hi, my name is Sarah Gimblett and I am from New Zealand. I have been living in London since August 2010 and am really enjoying seeing lots of new places and meeting loads of new people here. I love to travel, be outdoors, snowboard and read.
I completed my teacher training in Wellington, New Zealand in 2003 and then spent two years overseas in San Diego and Canada working with children. Upon returning to New Zealand I worked as a supply teacher for 6 months and then taught Year 7 & 8 at a middle school for the next 3½ years which I thoroughly enjoyed.
My favourite aspects of teaching are helping children learn and seeing that 'light bulb' come on when they learn something new. My expertise in teaching lies in Physical Education which I really enjoy because we get to be active and play lots of games. I also love teaching Maths because there is so much to learn and many ways to extend children.
I think it is important to provide a safe and structured learning environment so that children can do their best and take risks in their learning. I have high expectations for all children in my class and am always looking at ways to challenge them further.
Rickella Griffiths, Teaching and Learning Assistant
Hello, my name is Rickella Griffiths I recently graduated from the University of Hertfordshire and obtained a Ba (Hons) in Marketing. I have extensive experience in working with children in various settings.
I started working at Faraday school in September 2011 and I am delighted to be working here as I believe that the children are our future - what we instil in them today will make a greater change for tomorrow.
With my genuine passion to help others strive and succeed I would like to make positive impact on each and every child's life here at Faraday. I believe education is the key to success and it is extremely rewarding to be able to contribute to this field. I have developed a strong sense of passion for teaching and would like to pursue this as my career.
